Saint Louis Cemetery Number One

Here are some of the pictures I took on a cemetery tour in New Orleans.

Going shopping!!

Enough people have bugged me to do it so I am going to go and get one tonight. I have been showing my pictures to some of my co-workers that are artists as well and they all think that I need to get a portfolio together to show a local gallery they know of that displays local photographers. I found a local art supply store near my office so after work I will go and see what they have available. Then I have to decide on which pictures to have enlarged for the portfolio. I think I will get two, one for black and whites and one for color photos.

It's Pumpkin Month!!

Boy it is October already. Where is the year going??? I just got back from visiting Mike in New Orleans for a few days on Monday. I took some great pictures. Here is the link to them on my photobucket account. The pictures are in folders along the left side of the screen in different subjects.

It is almost state fair time!!!! I have most of my crocheted items about ready. I am focusing on categories that I have not won anything in this year. The items I am making are: baby hat, baby afghan, dream catcher afghan, felted purse, baby bib, stuffed animal toy, and photography. Once I get caught up from vacation I will post some pictures.

Great Country Sunset

Caught this great sunset from my front door a while ago. Got back from TN this morning around 2. Will be feeling it later this afternoon. Mike and I went to see Hancock on Sunday. It was a bit hokey but still pretty good. We are taking his son tonight to see Dark Knight. Hope I can stay awake for it. Got to work on the last baby afghan I am making for a co-worker who is having identical twin girls. Will post pictures when I am done.

It's Been A While

It sure has been a while since I have posted last. Have been busy with my new job, the toys & collectibles business I run with my boyfriend and life in general. Have started planning my entries for the state fair this year. It is all a secret until the items are entered so no one can steal my ideas...lol Should have 5 or 6 items to enter this year.

Box for Team A at Online Angels

I got my box together for this month for OA today.

20 boxes of candy canes
7 kid shirts (bought)
2 baby booties (c)
2 baby hats (c)
1 scarf (c)
1 12" square (c)
1 hat (c)

My goal for this year is to donate enough to get the gold Presidential Volunteer Award. I received the bronze my first year and will receive the silver for 2007. I want to learn to sew this year as well so this just might help me reach my personal goal.

Hockey Surprise and Hot Pink Yarn Saturday

For an early birthday present, my boyfriend got tickets for the morning practice sessions for the Hurricanes on Saturday. He told me we were going to meet someone at the fair grounds to look at a lot of toys we might buy for your inventory. When he blew past the exit for the fair grounds I got curious. Then we got off at the exit for the RBC Center and he gave me the tickets and he said gottcha!!! So we got to watch the practices from about the 8th row up from the glass and towards the end, I got to sit right on the glass and watch Colorado's goalie practice. Took lots of pictures. Got to have lots of hot chocolate and a few pears.

Then we went to the flea market at the fair grounds. There was a vender there I had not seen before. They were selling yarn!!!! Like I don't have enough already right. They sold mills ends and were having a special. The bags were $2 each and the hot pink bags were $1 each. They had 3 to 4 skeins in the bags. We were talking and I said I would probably make chemo caps with the pink yarn and they gave me 2 free bags on top of my purchase. Wooo Hooo!! Went back by again and got 4 more bags for 2 dollars. They are getting a new shipment in and needed to get rid of the yarn.

So I am going to split the pink chemo caps between OA and the cancer center at Duke in Durham.

I got to work on a test bag I am going to try to felt. It is going to be a small day purse/bag made from two 12 inch granny squares. Then I will make a handle that can go across from one shoulder and lay on the opposite hip. We are doing two shows in February and will try to have some bags made to sell. Plan on giving OA 15% of the money raised towards the building fund.

Then we got to go to the game that night. Unfortunately, the Canes let the game go and they lost but I still had a great day!!
