Today sure was a Monday

Work was extra crazy today.

I sure was happy to pick up Joanne after work so I could leave my crazy day behind me once she flashed me a big smile when she saw me in the front yard at the sitter's house. And then she said dada. She sure misses her daddy. He will be home this weekend!!

Lunch Time Progress

Got two rows done on the shawl on my lunch hour. Think I will add one more ball of yarn to it then a edging I will go.

What I am working on today

Brought UFO #3 with me to work today. Going to try to get some rows done on my lunch hour. I looked up the dimension of a shawl online and they range around 65 inches wide by 33 inches deep. Don't think I have enough yarn to go to 65 inches plus an edging. Think I will go to 60 inches and then edge the puppy!

The next UFO I work on should be the Mondrian inspired afghan since there are so many little red squares to make. Maybe I will start this monster and work on one of the smaller UFO's at the same time so I can see a color besides red.

This is the piece I drew inspiration from for my afghan.

UFO #3 (2010 unfinished State Fair Project)

Pulled the bag from the UFO pile this weekend and rolled it down the stair to take a picture. I have never made a shawl before and feel in love with some yarn I saw in a magazine so that was the birth of this UFO. It is made with lighthouse Waves, a wool and soy blend yarn. I don't remember the name of the color but it is a varigated yarn in shades of pinks and browns.

The shawl is currently 57 inches long and 48 inches wide. Not sure how big a shawl is suppose to be. Will have to look that up and see when I can stop and put a simple edging on this thing to put it to bed for this year's 2011 NC State Fair.

Have to list some boxes of product on Amazon before I can start working on this UFO. Must increase the listings to get the sales in so the toy army leaves my dining room...lol Love you honey in case you are reading this post.

Hi Daddy!!

Today was Joanne's 9 month check-up appointment. Just a flu shot this time. Wish you could have seen the look on her face when her favorite nurse did a sneak attack and gave her the shot while I was holding her. The look of betrayal could have melted your heart. We went to Wal-Mart afterwards and bought a cool mist humidifer to help her breath better at night and stop coughing. So far so good.

Happy Valentine's Day!

UFO #2 Completed

Finished this up over the weekend. It will be a nice little blanket for a preemie or small newborn. The color combination turned out well. Making small squares to send along in the box for Online Angels with the left over yarn.

Just a few more things to finish and then I can make the felted bowl I have been wanting to make. Going to play around with color combination on this next bowl to see how crazy it can look after its trip through the washing machine.

Recycling Crayons

This is something I have wanted to try. And now that we have Joanne it is a good excuse to make some for presents for her daycare friends.

Recycled Chunky Crayons
How to Recycle Old Crayons
New Crayons from Old Ones - Uses cookie cutters
Recycled Crayons
Recycle broken crayons into fun new shapes
Heart Shaped Crayons

My current crochet project

This is UFO number two that I have pulled from my pile on the floor in the craft corner of our bonus room. There are two more bags left before I will have to face the red squares! But I will finish that afghan this year for the fair. Will have to check but I believe I have to make around 250 two round granny squares to complete this thing. Just keep telling myself....I will finish, I will finish.

Also working on a hat for me. It is suppose to snow again this Thursday. What crazy weather we are having here in North Carolina. Hope it doesn't because I am suppose to drive to Wilmington for an optical show at a DENR office.
